Canyon de Chelly, Arizona (just across the border from Ship Rock)

Our day started with running into a couple of Navajo men out selling their rock paintings.

We bought something from each of them.

This man even sells on ebay!

They got a very early start. What we soon learned was that the native people set up shop all over the place.

We asked for permission to take pictures.

Canyon views...

Kenny helps you get a sense of the scale of the place.

I am intrigued by tunnels of any kind!

It goes down so deep!

We took a hike to the bottom.

The staining on the rocks is very typical and imitated on the rock art those men (above) created.

Morning glories! Now Georgia O'Keefe's paintings of them make more sense to me!

They grow in tough conditions!

This shadow reminded me of the art piece we saw on the wall in Santa Fe (see that post).

Do you see a man's nose tip, lips and chin? I do! Kenny - not so much!
