I want to record what we see in this beautiful country as we go on our first extended road trip.
This seems like a perfect vehicle to share it as well!
Our first "destination city" was Santa Fe, New Mexico.
We arrived downtown in the early morning on a Saturday and found a great little place to have a cup of coffee. It was about the size of a small walk-in closet:
We strolled around and took in some of the local art:
Faux tapestry mural
Mosaic. Our favorite medium.
All of the architecture in the town MUST be in the adobe style, even if it is faux-dobe!
We bought a couple of his leather bracelets.
I chose one of his seed pots as a wedding gift for my nephew in Portland.
I bought one of her silver and turquoise ear cuffs,
This gleaming timepiece caught our eye.
These vibrant columns are delightful!
This mural (detail on right) is on an exterior wall of the Museum of Contemporary Native American Art.
We had breakfast at The French Pastry Shop & Creperie.
We sat beside the fireplace there.
A young man from the museum recommended that we go see this staircase. It is pretty amazing. Notice there is no center support beam. there are no nails or screws. There is a story behind it all and they say it is miraculous!
